Market Towns Retail Distinctiveness Project
Welcome to the Market Towns Retail Distinctiveness website.
The role of market towns within the North East has been identified by One North East Regional Development Agency as a key factor to the overall economy of the region. In response to this strategic objective and valuing the role of rural areas within the region, One North East wishes to discover what makes market towns distinctive from other towns and cities?
The market towns of Alnwick, Barnard Castle and Guisborough have been chosen for this project due to their diverse locations across the North East, with the various town partnerships working alongside One North East to ensure that the emerging work and action plans respond to local need and bring about sustainable economic benefits for all!
This website tells you more about the project, the three market towns, how we are finding out about retail distinctiveness and how you can get involved!
